Simplicity is non-negotiable when scaling fast
Sixt Norway is a company on the move, quite literally. With car rental stations spread across the country, a demanding seasonal business and a steadily growing team, HR work was dominated by administration. They now have a single home for all their HR core, and that efficiency carries through to their daily work: "With Hailey, we use each other's time so much more effectively," says Lene Marie Eliassen, HR Manager at Sixt Norway.
Core processes at the centre for maximum impact
In a seasonally driven industry, the administrative burden around core HR processes can quickly become overwhelming. Contracts in one system, salary review in another, emergency contacts in a third, and then making sure all 8 subsidiaries across the group are aligned. It's a heavy load for any HR team.
Bringing those core processes together in one place has therefore been Sixt Norway's focus since going live with Hailey in the beginning of 2026.
"We had grown to a point where it became critical to systematise the repetitive work, to be able to follow up on employees easily and support our managers out in the subsidiaries," says Lene Marie.
Simplicity, a must for a company on the move
It wasn't just HR who saw the need. Sebastian Asbjørnsen, Operations Manager at Sixt Norway, was equally convinced it was time for a change.
"The most important thing we have is the people in our organisation, and they're worth investing in properly. Hailey is straightforward, but it's also a product that's developing and growing, which matches us as a company," says Sebastian.
Lene Marie agrees, and points out that Hailey stood out amongst the vendors they looked at, particularly around ease of use – a non-negotiable for a company in Sixt Norway's growth phase:
"Simplicity is essential when you're scaling fast and need your employees to get up to speed quickly." she adds.
Country-specific compliance handled automatically
Like other companies, Sixt Norway must navigate certain country-specific legal requirements. In Norway, sick leave follow-up is one such process that simply cannot be overlooked.
"We now have workflows built specifically for sick leave follow-up, so managers automatically receive a task outlining what they need to do. In a busy working day that kind of thing can slip, and that support is something we'd really been missing," explains Lene Marie.
A swift implementation that delivered value straight away
The heavy lifting of the implementation fell to Eirin Mauland, HR Administrator at Sixt Norway, and she took it in her stride.
"I put together the import files to get the data in place, and then it was just a matter of getting on with it. The whole implementation took about two months, and it was work I fitted in alongside my regular responsibilities," she says.
Managers responded well to the launch, something Eirin noticed immediately.
"It's more efficient for managers when they know exactly where to find all employee data and follow-up support, without having to ask HR. With Hailey, you essentially remove a step from the process," she adds.
Lene Marie also highlights the support received during the implementation journey:
"With regular meetings where we were almost guided by the hand, going through everything step by step, it was straightforward to implement even in the midst of a hectic working day," she says.
When the basics just work
At the end of the day, what delivers the most value is the fundamentals working the way they should. Lene Marie puts it plainly:
"When a new employee starts, an onboarding workflow triggers automatically. Once the contract is signed, most things just take care of themselves. We think that's absolutely brilliant," she says.
