MCP Server - Connect Hailey to your preferred AI tool
2026-03-18
We just launched an MCP server for Hailey. It's the foundation for letting AI agents work with your HR data — securely, and with the structure they need to be useful.
What is MCP, briefly
MCP (Model Context Protocol) is an open protocol that's become the standard way AI tools connect to external tools and data. Think of it as a shared language between AI agents and the applications they need to work with.
Agents are moving from answering questions to taking action across your entire tool ecosystem. The MCP server is Hailey's entry point into that larger context.
Why this matters for HR
HR data is some of the most valuable data in any organisation. But in most setups, it's spread across multiple systems, outdated and hard to act on, even for the people working with it every day.
That's a problem if you want AI to do anything meaningful with it. Agents need structured, reliable data with clear rules for what's allowed and who can see what. Fragmented systems don't give them that.
What makes Hailey different here?
Hailey is the HR platform that your employees actually use, which means the data stays current. Everything sits in one place: employee data, org structure, roles and permissions. It's the difference between an AI agent that gives you a confident wrong answer and one that gives you something you can trust and act on.
When you connect through the MCP server, all of that carries over — access, structure, rules and scope. The agent sees exactly what the connected user is allowed to see in Hailey. This makes it possible for any compatible AI tool to act on your HR data in plain language, right where you're already working.
Built for agents, not just questions
The MCP server is built to let AI agents integrate Hailey into your broader workflows — wherever you're building them, with whatever tools you prefer. That means HR data can become a natural part of processes like onboarding, workforce planning, or compliance without someone manually pulling reports or switching between systems.
Our first release is read-only, covering employee data. Write capabilities, more data sources, and full agent support are on the roadmap. The foundation is in place.
Part of a bigger picture
We're building Hailey to work with the way AI is developing, with infrastructure that makes real use cases possible. The MCP server is a step in that direction.
